Shabbat School

“Then some children were brought to Him so that He might lay hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them. But Yeshua said, "Let the children alone, do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”  (Matthew 19:13-14)

The mission of our Shabbat School program is to “train up a child in the way he should go.” Lessons are focused on:

We have classes for preschool through middle school during the Friday night Erev Shabbat, and Saturday morning Shabbat services. The children participate in the liturgical service, go to their classes during the message, and then join the congregation in a time of praise and worship. They have a special part in all the celebrations – asking the four questions during the Passover Seder, decorating the Sukkah for the Feast of Tabernacles, singing, dancing and acting in the Chanukah program, and enjoying a fun festival for Purim.

At Congregation Roeh Israel, we see our children as the future leaders of the Body of Messiah, and seek to equip them to live a life pleasing to the Lord. They are truly precious in His sight.
